Upfort Home - How to Install the Browser Firewall

This article will explain how to install your Browser Firewall when using Upfort Home. For more information about the Browser Firewall, see this article: Upfort Home - Browser Firewall

 

  1. You can install the Browser Firewall by following the link to "Activate Web Protection" in your Upfort Home Dashboard.


     
  2. By clicking on "Activate Web Protection", be taken through to your active browser's store to install the Browser Firewall.
     
  3. You can click on "Learn more" to see more information about the Browser Firewall, and also to get the links for all 3 compatible browsers: Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Mozilla Firefox.

 

 

You can find further installation steps below for each browser.


Google Chrome

  1. Clicking on the Download for Google Chrome link will redirect you to the Chrome store for the Upfort Shield Browser Firewall. Select Add to Chrome

  2. A pop-up will appear asking you to confirm that you want to add the extension.  It explains how the extension interacts with the browser.  Want more details about this? Click here. Select Add extension

  3. A new page will open with details about how to log into the extension.

  4. Click on the puzzle piece in the upper right-hand corner of the browser to open your extensions. Find the Upfort Browser Firewall and pin it

  5. Click on the Upfort logo in the extension area of the browser - to the right of your search bar! Clicking here will unfurl the extension.  Select "Log in"

  6. This will open up the login page to your browser extension. Log in using the email address for your Upfort Shield account. Once you're logged in, you are protected.


     
  7. We also provide a tour of the extension when it is first logged in to get you acquainted.

Microsoft Edge

  1. Clicking on Microsoft Edge will redirect you to the Edge add-ons for the Upfort Shield extension. Select Get

  3. A new page will open with details about how to log into the extension.


     
  4. Click on the Upfort Browser Firewall from the extension area of the browser, to the right of your search bar!


     
  5. Clicking here will unfurl the extension.  Select Log in


     
  6. This will open up the login page to your browser extension. Log in using the email address for your Upfort Shield account. Once you're logged in, you are protected.


     
  7. We also provide a tour of the extension when it is first logged in to get you acquainted. 

 

Browser Firewall

  1. Clicking on Mozilla Firefox will redirect you to the Firefox add-ons for the Upfort Shield extension. Select "Add to Firefox"

  2. A pop-up will appear asking you to confirm that you want to add the extension.  It explains how the extension interacts with the browser.  Want more details about this? Click here. Select"Add"


     
  3. A new page will open with details about how to log into the extension.


     
  4. Click on the "U" icon in the extension area of the browser, to the right of your search bar!
